Coronation Walk planting

We are delighted to announce the completion of the Coronation Walk first phase development in the north end of the park. We have now successfully created three large flower borders, one around each of the three benches which are all supplied with flagged stone bases.

The total number of flowers planted in this development is 400. In addition we supplied and installed one additional bench, one litter bin and some carefully crafted wooden signage designed to blend in with the surroundings.

Altogether we think it looks fantastic and will help create a lovely environment to sit and enjoy everything the park has to offer.

We are very grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund for their kind help in supporting this project. Grateful thanks also go to Let’s Grow Preston for undertaking the planting, to Dig In for constructing the bench and signage and to all the volunteers who so willingly helped in so many ways.

If all goes to plan we hope to be constructing another new path running west to east and linking all these benches and flower borders together later this year.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help maintain this new area so if you have an interest in gardening and have a bit of free time, please get in touch.

Also, if you like what we do and would like to help in any way or join our group, don’t be shy and reach out!
