The ‘Friends of Conway Park’ would like to invite you to join them for a “FAMILY FUN DAY” to be held in Conway Park on Sunday 27th August 2017.  The day will start at 11 o’clock and you can look forward to:-

• ‘Just For Fun Dog Show’ (11am-12.45pm)
• Picnic In The Park (11 am onwards)
• Family Sports & Games (1.30 – 2.30pm)
• Raffle prizes & much more (11am onwards)

Come rain or shine, let’s come together to enjoy this wonderful open space.   Here are some preliminary details…………………….

The ‘Just For Fun Dog Show’ – Sponsored by Oakhill Veterinary Centre.  There will be 8 categories for judging to include Cutest Puppy up to 12 months, Prettiest Bitch, Most Handsome Dog, Best Golden Oldie (over 8yrs), Waggiest Tail, Best Junior Handler (under 11yrs), Best Rescue/re-homed dog and the dog the judges would most like to take home. It’s all for fun, not too serious and aimed at involving all dog lovers to come along and enter. Who knows, your dog may win! Other canine activities include doggy lucky dip, guess the name of the dog, to name but a few.

Picnic In The Park – Bring your own picnic (and rug) and enjoy outdoor eating with friends and family. Please feel free to bring folding chairs and tables if you wish. Refreshments will be available to purchase (no hot drinks) as well as homemade cakes for sale and lots of goodies. An Ice Cream Van will be selling its goodies. Additional provisions for litter collection will be provided – please use them at the end of the day and help to keep the park tidy. **please note no BBQ’s permitted for health & safety reasons.

Fun & Games – A whole variety of games and sports for children, families and friends will take place throughout the day.  Each of the events will have FOCP members or qualified supporters in attendance to ensure fair play and judging. The day is being run and organised by local volunteers and all prizes are donated from a selection of local businesses.

In order to run the games and stalls effectively, we need some extra volunteers to help us.  If you would like to volunteer at this event, please attend the planning meeting on WED 16^th Aug at 7.30pm at the Park Pavilion or get in touch by email.

The aim of this event is primarily as a social gathering for neighbours/family/friends but also to raise funds to improve the playground & paths within our park.
